Torte Base

Fig Butter

Method

Torte Base Preparation

1

Prepare the Torte Base

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan. In a large bowl, mix tamarind pulp, flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and melted butter, then combine with the dry ingredients. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Avocado Mousse Preparation

2

Make the Avocado Mousse

In a blender, combine ripe avocados, coconut milk, honey, vanilla extract, and lime juice. Blend until smooth and creamy. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

Fig Butter Preparation

3

Prepare the Fig Butter

In a small saucepan, combine chopped figs and water. Cook over medium heat until figs are soft, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup. Blend until smooth and set aside to cool.

Assembly

4

Assemble the Torte

Once the torte base has cooled, slice it in half horizontally. Spread a layer of avocado mousse on the bottom layer, replace the top layer, and spread more mousse on top. Drizzle fig butter over the mousse and serve.
