Method
Prepare the Beef Filling
- 1
Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Add Seasoning
Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat. Add the taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
- 3
Simmer
Bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Assemble the Tacos
- 4
Warm the Taco Shells
If using hard shells, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the shells for about 5 minutes until warm. If using soft shells, you can warm them in a microwave or skillet for about 30 seconds.
- 5
Fill the Shells
Take each taco shell and fill it generously with the beef mixture.
- 6
Add Garnishes
Top the beef with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and sliced jalapeños to taste.
Serve
- 7
Enjoy
Serve the tacos immediately while they are hot, and enjoy with your favorite salsa or hot sauce.
