Method
Coffee
Brew the Coffee
In a coffee maker, add the freshly ground coffee beans and water. Brew according to your coffee maker's instructions.
Prepare the Milk
In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until steaming, but not boiling. Stir in sugar to taste.
Pastries
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add Flour
Gradually add the all-purpose flour until a smooth dough forms. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Bake the Pastries
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Shape the dough into small balls and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
Salads
Prepare the Vegetables
Wash and chop the mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber into bite-sized pieces.
Make the Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper.
Assemble the Salad
In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Drizzle with dressing and toss to combine.
Sandwiches
Prepare the Ingredients
Spread hummus on each slice of bread. Layer cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese, and fresh herbs on top.
Assemble the Sandwich
Top with another slice of bread and press lightly. Cut in half and serve.
