Method

Preparation of Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix Coffee and Liqueur

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 1 tablespoon of coffee liqueur.

Prepare the Filling

  1. 3

    Separate Eggs

Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites into two separate bowls.

  2. 4

    Beat Egg Yolks

In the bowl with the egg yolks, add 100g of sugar and beat until pale and creamy.

  3. 5

    Add Mascarpone

Add 500g of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture. Mix until smooth.

  4. 6

    Whip Egg Whites

In the other bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the mascarpone mixture.

  5. 7

    Whip Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 8

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 9

    Layer the Ladyfingers

Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of a rectangular dish.

  3. 10

    Add Filling

Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers in an even layer.

  4. 11

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.

  5. 12

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Final Touch

  1. 13

    Dust with Cocoa Powder

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 50g of cocoa powder using a fine sieve.

  2. 14

    Serve

Cut into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your classic Italian tiramisu!
