Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.

Cook Pasta
Add elbow macaroni to boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 7-8 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
Making Cheese Sauce

Add Flour
Once melted, whisk in 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour and cook for about 1 minute to form a roux.

Add Milk
Gradually whisk in 2 cups of milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and begins to simmer, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Cheese and Seasonings
Remove from heat and stir in 2 cups of shredded white cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon of salt, 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper, 0.5 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 0.5 teaspoon of onion powder until smooth.
Combining Ingredients

Mix Pasta and Cheese Sauce
Add the drained pasta to the cheese sauce and stir until the pasta is well coated.

Prepare Topping
In a small bowl, mix together 0.5 cups of breadcrumbs and 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Stir in 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley.

Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish, sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture on top, and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
