Salad Preparation

Prepare the Lettuce
Cut the head of iceberg lettuce into quarters and place them on a serving platter.

Prepare the Tomatoes
Slice the medium tomatoes into wedges and arrange them around the lettuce on the platter.

Prepare Hard-Boiled Eggs
Peel and slice the hard-boiled eggs in half. Place them on top of the lettuce wedges.

Slice the Onions
Thinly slice the sweet onions into rings.

Prepare the Coating
In a bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.

Fry the Onions
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Dredge the onion rings in the flour mixture and fry them until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Dressing Preparation

Make the Gorgonzola Dressing
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the gorgonzola cheese, olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, and black pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the dressing is warm.
