Salad Preparation

Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash and dry the romaine lettuce. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

Add Caesar Dressing
Pour the Caesar dressing over the romaine lettuce. Toss gently to coat the leaves evenly.

Add Parmesan Cheese
Shave or grate the Parmesan cheese and sprinkle it over the dressed lettuce.
Crouton Preparation

Prepare the Bread
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the baguette or French bread into bite-sized cubes.

Mix Crouton Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, minced garlic, olive oil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.

Bake the Croutons
Spread the coated bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp, tossing halfway through to ensure even baking.

Cool Croutons
Remove the croutons from the oven and let them cool slightly before adding them to the salad.
Serving the Salad

Combine Salad and Croutons
Once the croutons have cooled, add them to the salad bowl with the romaine lettuce and toss gently.

Serve the classic Caesar salad immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
