Tuna Tartare

Method

Preparation of Tuna Tartare

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Using a sharp knife, cut the sushi-grade tuna into small, finely diced cubes, about 1/4 inch in size. Place in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

Add the sesame oil, soy sauce, lime juice, chopped green onion, salt, and black pepper to the diced tuna. Gently mix until all ingredients are well combined.

  3. 3

    Add Sesame Seeds

Sprinkle sesame seeds over the mixture and fold them in gently to avoid breaking the tuna cubes.

Preparation of Avocado

  1. 4

    Prepare the Avocado

Cut the ripe avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out into a bowl. Mash it lightly with a fork and season with a pinch of salt and a squeeze of lime juice to prevent browning.

Plating

  1. 5

    Plate the Tartare

On a plate, place a ring mold and fill it with the tuna tartare mixture, pressing down gently. Carefully lift the mold off to leave a neatly shaped mound.

  2. 6

    Add Avocado

Spoon the mashed avocado around the tuna tartare on the plate, creating a beautiful contrast of colors.

  3. 7

    Garnish

Top with microgreens for a fresh touch and serve with tortilla chips or crackers on the side.
