Prepare the Cookie Dough
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, cream the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Chill Dough
Cover the cookie dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare Brownie Batter
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, granulated sugar, and salt.

Melt Butter
In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Bake the Brownies
Pour the brownie batter into a greased 8x8 inch baking pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool Brownies
Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
Assembling the Tray

Form Cookies
Once the cookie dough is chilled, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop out small balls of dough and place them on the baking sheet, leaving space in between.

Bake Cookies
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Cut Brownies
Once the brownies are completely cooled, cut them into 6 equal squares.

Arrange on Tray
On a serving tray, arrange 6 cookies and 6 brownie squares, alternating them for a visually appealing presentation.
