Turkey Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Turkey
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Rub the turkey breast with olive oil, then season it with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Ensure that the seasoning covers all sides of the turkey.
- 2
Roast the Turkey
Place the seasoned turkey breast in a roasting pan, breast side up. Roast in the preheated oven for about 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey with its juices every 30 minutes for even cooking.
- 3
Rest the Turkey
Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before pulling it apart. This will help retain the juices.
Coleslaw Preparation
- 4
Mix Coleslaw Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrot. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
- 5
Combine and Chill
Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots. Toss until all the vegetables are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Assembly
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
Slice the sandwich rolls in half. Spread a layer of mayonnaise on the inside of each roll. Place a slice of provolone cheese on the bottom half, followed by a generous portion of the pulled turkey.
- 7
Add Coleslaw and Dressing
Top the turkey with a scoop of coleslaw and drizzle with Russian dressing. Close the sandwich with the top half of the roll.
- 8
Serve
Serve immediately, or wrap in foil to keep warm until ready to eat.
