Main Ingredients

Method

Cooking the Steak and Bacon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Place the steak on the grill or skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain.

Preparing the Vegetables and Assembly

  1. 4

    Slice the Onion

Chop the onion into thin slices.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Onions

In the same skillet used for the bacon, add the sliced onions and sauté over medium heat until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. 6

    Prepare the Tomato and Lettuce

While the onions are cooking, slice the tomato into thick slices and wash the lettuce leaves.

  4. 7

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread mayo on the inside of each hoagie roll. Layer the grilled steak, sautéed onions, crispy bacon, lettuce, and tomato in each roll. Top each sandwich with 2 slices of white American cheese.

Final Steps

  1. 8

    Melt the Cheese

If desired, place the assembled sandwiches under a broiler for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.

  2. 9

    Serve

Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately while hot.
