Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Peppers

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Drizzle the insides with olive oil and set aside.

2

Cook the Filling

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until soft. Add the ground beef or turkey and cook until browned. Stir in the cooked rice, tomato sauce, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

3

Stuff the Peppers

Spoon the filling mixture into each bell pepper, packing it tightly. Place the stuffed peppers upright in a baking dish.

4

Bake

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil, sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

5

Serve

Remove the stuffed peppers from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your delicious Pimientos Rellenos!
