Method
For the Burger
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined and form into two equal patties.
- 2
Cook the Patties
In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached. In the last minute of cooking, add the remaining butter to the skillet and baste the patties.
- 3
Toast the Brioche Buns
In the same skillet, toast the brioche buns for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from heat.
For the Onion Rings
- 4
Slice the Onions
Peel the onion and slice it into 1/4-inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set aside.
- 5
Prepare the Batter
In a bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually whisk in the cold water until the batter is smooth.
- 6
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 7
Fry the Onion Rings
Dip each onion ring into the batter and carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
For the Cajun Aioli
- 8
Mix the Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Cajun seasoning, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Stir until well mixed.
Assemble the Burger
- 9
Build the Burger
Spread a generous amount of Cajun aioli on the bottom half of the toasted brioche bun. Place the beef patty on top, followed by a few onion rings. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
