Method
Root Beer
- 1
Prepare the Root Beer Base
In a medium saucepan, combine the water, brown sugar, sassafras root, sarsaparilla root, licorice root, and wintergreen leaves. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- 2
Simmer the Mixture
Once boiling, reduce heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes to extract the flavors from the roots.
- 3
Strain the Mixture
Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large bowl to remove the solid ingredients. Let it cool completely.
- 4
Combine with Carbonated Water
Once cooled, mix the root beer base with the carbonated water. Adjust sweetness to taste if desired.
Orange Cream
- 5
Juice the Oranges
Freshly squeeze oranges to obtain 1 cup of juice. Strain to remove pulp if desired.
- 6
Mix the Ingredients
In a pitcher, combine the fresh orange juice, sugar, vanilla extract, and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- 7
Add Carbonated Water
Pour in the carbonated water and stir gently to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
Vanilla Cream
- 8
Prepare the Vanilla Cream Base
In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
- 9
