Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 teaspoons of tea leaves or 4 tea bags into the water.

  3. 3

    Steep the Tea

Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you want the flavor to be. For lighter tea, steep for 5 minutes; for stronger tea, steep for 7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Remove Tea Leaves/Bags

After steeping, remove the tea leaves or tea bags from the water. If using loose tea, you can use a fine mesh strainer to strain out the leaves.

  5. 5

    Add Optional Flavorings

If desired, add mint leaves, lemon slices, or grated ginger to the tea for additional flavor. Stir gently to combine.

  6. 6

    Cool and Serve

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature or refrigerate for a chilled tea. Serve in a glass with ice if desired.
