Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cheese Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Roux

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the all-purpose flour and whisk continuously for about 2 minutes until it turns golden brown.

  2. 3

    Add Milk

Gradually whisk in the whole milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to whisk until the mixture thickens, approximately 5-7 minutes.

  3. 4

    Incorporate Cheddar

Remove the saucepan from heat and add the white cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

Combine and Serve

  1. 5

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, stirring until all pasta is evenly coated.

  2. 6

    Optional Topping

If desired, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and dried parsley in a small bowl. Sprinkle this mixture on top of the mac and cheese.

  3. 7

    Bake (Optional)

Transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  4. 8

    Serve

Serve hot and enjoy your Original White Cheddar Mac!
