Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cheese
Take the mozzarella cheese sticks out of the packaging and place them in the freezer for at least 30 minutes. This will help them hold their shape while frying.
Breading
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour, beaten eggs, and seasoned breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Bread the Cheese Sticks
Take each frozen mozzarella stick and first coat it in flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, followed by coating it evenly with the breadcrumb mixture. Ensure each cheese stick is well-coated.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature for accuracy.
- 5
Fry the Cheese Sticks
Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serving
- 6
Serve with Marinara
Arrange the fried mozzarella sticks on a serving plate and serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
