Burger Patty

Caramelized Onions

Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the plant-based ground meat, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

  3. 3

    Cook Patties

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until browned and heated through.

Caramelizing Onions

  1. 4

    Slice Onions

Thinly slice the yellow onion and set aside.

  2. 5

    Cook Onions

In a separate skillet, heat olive oil over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onions and salt, cooking for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown.

Making Garlic Aioli

  1. 6

    Prepare Garlic

    Mince the garlic cloves finely.

  2. 7

    Mix Aioli Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the vegan mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Prepare Buns

Toast the gluten-free burger buns lightly if desired.

  2. 9

    Assemble Burger

Spread a generous amount of garlic aioli on the bottom half of each bun. Place a patty on top, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese, a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and some caramelized onions. Top with the other half of the bun.
