Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Juicing the Lemons

Roll the fresh lemons on the countertop to soften them. Cut each lemon in half and use a citrus juicer to extract the juice into a measuring cup. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Making the Sugar Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.

  3. 3

    Mixing the Lemonade

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the cooled sugar syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.

Serving

  1. 4

    Chill and Serve

If desired, add ice cubes to each glass before pouring the lemonade. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for an extra touch. Serve immediately.
