Method
Prepare Chicken Thighs
- 1
Marinate Chicken
In a bowl, combine maple syrup, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- 2
Cook Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 3
Cook Chicken
In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add the marinated chicken thighs. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Prepare Spicy Pickles
- 4
Spice Up Pickles
In a bowl, mix sliced pickles with cayenne pepper and hot sauce. Allow to marinate for 10 minutes.
Make Cinnamon Honey Butter
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a bowl, mix the softened butter, honey, and ground cinnamon until well combined. Set aside.
Bake Southern Biscuits
- 6
Prepare Dough
Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 7
Add Milk
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the milk. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 8
Shape Biscuits
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter.
- 9
Bake
Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
