Method

Lemonade Preparation

  1. 1

    Juice the Lemons

Juice the fresh lemons until you have about 1 cup of lemon juice. Strain to remove seeds and pulp if desired.

  2. 2

    Mix Lemonade

In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice, granulated sugar, and 4 cups of water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  3. 3

    Adjust Sweetness

Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if needed.

Strawberry Mixture Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Strawberries

Wash the fresh strawberries thoroughly and remove the stems. Cut them in half or quarters depending on size.

  2. 5

    Macerate Strawberries

In a bowl, toss the strawberries with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. Let sit for about 10 minutes to allow the strawberries to macerate and release their juices.

  3. 6

    Add Basil

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the strawberry mixture, stirring gently to combine.

Final Assembly

  1. 7

    Combine Mixtures

In a large serving pitcher, combine the prepared lemonade and the macerated strawberry-basil mixture.

  2. 8

    Add Sierra Mist

Add 2 cups of Sierra Mist to the pitcher for a fizzy kick.

  3. 9

    Serve Chilled

Serve over ice cubes in tall glasses and garnish with additional basil leaves if desired.
