Method
Preparation of Ribs

Prepare the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.

Season the Ribs
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Rub this seasoning mix generously over the ribs.
Cooking Process

Slow Cooking
Place the seasoned ribs in a slow cooker. Pour the MI beer over the ribs. Cover and cook on low for 12 hours or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone.

Baste with Sauce
During the last hour of cooking, baste the ribs with either the Sweet BBQ Sauce or the New Holland Bourbon Sauce, depending on your preference.
Serving

Prepare Sides
While the ribs are finishing, prepare your choice of sides such as coleslaw, cornbread, baked beans, or macaroni and cheese.

Serve
Once the ribs are done, remove them from the slow cooker, let them rest for a few minutes, then serve with your choice of sides.
