Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Topping Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Squash

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Peel and cube the butternut squash into small pieces.

  2. 6

    Roast Squash

Toss the cubed squash with olive oil, minced garlic, fresh rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Spread onto a baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes until tender.

  3. 7

    Assemble Pizza

Once the dough has risen, preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone.

  4. 8

    Add Toppings

Spread the roasted squash mixture evenly over the crust. Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

  5. 9

    Bake Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 10

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, slice, and enjoy your delicious squash pizza!
