Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Black Tea

Boil water and steep the black tea bag in a cup of hot water for 3-5 minutes. Once brewed, remove the tea bag and set aside.

  2. 2

    Mix the Tonic Ingredients

In a heatproof glass or mug, combine the brewed black tea, honey, and lemon juice. Stir until the honey is completely dissolved.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Flamed Brandy

In a separate heatproof container, measure out 2 oz of brandy. Carefully ignite the brandy using a long lighter or match, allowing it to flame briefly. Be cautious with the fire.

  4. 4

    Combine the Ingredients

Once the brandy is flaming, carefully pour it into the glass with the tea mixture. Be prepared for a brief flame as the brandy ignites the tea.

  5. 5

    Add Spices and Garnishes

Add the cinnamon stick, cloves, and fresh ginger to the mixture. Stir gently to combine all flavors. Add a slice of lemon on the rim of the glass for garnish.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the tonic immediately while still warm. Optionally, you can extinguish the flame before serving for safety.
