Pup Cup Recipe

Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, stir together 1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup mashed ripe banana and 1 tablespoon natural unsweetened peanut butter until fully combined and smooth. Make sure the peanut butter contains no xylitol or added salt.

Adjust Consistency

If the mixture is too thick to spoon, add up to 2 tablespoons low-sodium chicken or beef broth, 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring after each addition until you reach a soft-serve texture that will be easy to scoop into cups.

Gently fold in 2 tablespoons finely chopped, cooked carrots and (optional) 2 tablespoons mashed or whole blueberries. These provide texture and flavor. Ensure any fruit or vegetable pieces are sized appropriately for your dog's size to avoid choking hazards.

Taste is for you to assess — do not add sugar, sweeteners, or any ingredient containing xylitol. The mixture should smell pleasant and be safe for dogs.

Spoon the mixture evenly into 6 small disposable paper or silicone ramekins/cups (about 1/4 cup each). Smooth the tops with the back of the spoon.

Garnish each pup cup with a small dog treat or a piece of training kibble placed on top. If using whole blueberries, place 1–2 on top as well.

Place cups on a flat tray and freeze for at least 2–3 hours until firm. For a softer texture, freeze 60–90 minutes to achieve a chilled, soft-serve consistency.

Remove a pup cup from the freezer and let sit at room temperature 3–5 minutes to soften slightly before giving to your dog. Serve the cup on a placemat or shallow dish to catch any drips.

Store unused pup cups covered in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. Thaw in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours before serving if you prefer a softer texture.

Always supervise your dog while eating a frozen treat, especially if they tend to gulp quickly. Adjust portion size for your dog's size and dietary needs—these are treats, not meal replacements.
