Vanilla Frozen Yogurt Base
Mix-ins and Toppings (kid-friendly)
Serving
Method
Vanilla Frozen Yogurt Base
- 1
Whisk base
In a medium mixing bowl, combine 2 cups plain Greek yogurt, 1 cup whole milk, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth and slightly runny so it can freeze evenly.
- 2
Chill (optional but recommended)
Cover the bowl and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Chilling helps the mixture freeze more smoothly and improves texture.
- 3
Freeze in ice cream maker
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches soft-serve consistency (typically 15–25 minutes). If you do not have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container and freeze, stirring vigorously every 20–30 minutes for about 2 hours until creamy.

Mix-ins and Toppings (kid-friendly)
- 5
Prepare mix-ins
While the yogurt is chilling or churning, place 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons rainbow sprinkles, 1/2 cup finely chopped strawberries, and 1/4 cup crushed graham crackers in small bowls for easy assembly. Keep the chocolate chips and sprinkles separate so kids can choose.

- 7
Top and serve
Scoop about 1/3 cup of the frozen yogurt per serving into small waffle cones or kid cups. Let kids add their favorite toppings from the prepared bowls (strawberries, sprinkles, crushed graham crackers). Drizzle up to 1 tsp honey on top if desired (do not give honey to children under 1 year).

- 8
Place each scoop on a small wooden spoon or include a spoon in the cup/cone. Serve immediately for best texture. Leftover frozen yogurt can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 7 days; allow 5–10 minutes at room temperature before scooping if too firm.
