Sundae Base
Toppings (choose 2)
Optional Garnishes
Method
Sundae Base
- 1
Chill dish
Place the sundae dish or small bowl in the freezer for 5–10 minutes before assembling to keep the ice cream from melting quickly.
- 2
Using an ice cream scoop, take three level scoops of the chosen flavor(s) of ice cream. If offering a mix (like one vanilla, one chocolate, one strawberry), scoop each flavor into the chilled dish, arranging them in a triangle so they slightly touch.
Toppings (choose 2)
- 3
Select two toppings from the Toppings list. If using sauces (chocolate, caramel, strawberry, hot fudge), warm briefly if thick: 5–8 seconds in a microwave-safe container, or stir until pourable.
- 4
Drizzle approximately 2 tablespoons of each chosen sauce evenly over the three scoops, or sprinkle the measured dry topping (sprinkles, chopped nuts) over the ice cream so coverage is even.
- 5
If choosing fresh fruit or banana slices, arrange them around or on top of the scoops. If using whipped cream, pipe or spoon approximately 2 oz on top of the scoops.
- 6
Top with a maraschino cherry if selected and add any optional garnishes like a mini cookie or a light dusting (0.25 tsp) of cocoa powder.
Serve
- 7
Serve immediately with a long spoon. Provide napkins; note that ice cream will begin to soften after about 3–5 minutes at room temperature.
