Tools & Assembly
Method
Prepare base
- 1
Chill dish (optional)
Place the sundae dish in the freezer for 5–10 minutes to slightly chill it; this helps the ice cream hold shape longer.
- 2
Using the ice cream scoop or a spoon, scoop 1 generous scoop of vanilla ice cream and place it in the center of the chilled sundae dish.
Add toppings (pick two)
- 3
Select two toppings from the Toppings list. For any sauce (hot fudge, caramel, strawberry), warm slightly if desired (about 10–15 seconds in the microwave) so it pours smoothly. Drizzle about 2 tablespoons of the chosen sauce(s) over the top of the scoop.
- 4
If using dry toppings (sprinkles, nuts, mini chips, crushed cookies), sprinkle about 1 tablespoon evenly over the ice cream so they adhere to the sauce or directly to the ice cream.
- 5
If using fresh strawberries, fan or arrange 3 slices on one side of the scoop. If using whipped cream, add a small dollop (about 2 tablespoons) on top or beside the scoop. Top with a maraschino cherry if desired.
Finishing & serve
- 6
Quickly check that chosen toppings look balanced. Wipe any drips from the rim of the dish with a clean napkin or spoon.
- 7
Serve immediately with a small spoon so the ice cream does not melt excessively.
