Bread Pudding

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Make the Custard

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Bread and Custard

Pour the custard mixture over the torn bread and gently fold in the blueberries. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the custard.

  4. 4

    Bake

Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.

  5. 5

    Serve

Allow the bread pudding to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and a drizzle of berry coulis.
