Cocktail
Prepare glass
Chill a coupe or rocks glass by placing it in the freezer for a few minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the drink; discard ice water before pouring.
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 1 oz cooled espresso (or very strong coffee), 1 oz Frangelico, 1 oz Baileys Irish Cream, and 0.25 oz simple syrup if you prefer it sweeter. Add a generous handful of ice (about 1 cup).
Shake
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 12β15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and the contents are well chilled and slightly frothy from the cream liqueur and coffee.
Strain
Double-strain (using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer if available) into the chilled coupe or a rocks glass over fresh ice if you prefer it on the rocks. If serving neat, strain without ice for a smoother presentation.
Garnish
Lightly grate a small amount (about 1 tsp) of dark chocolate over the top or dust with cocoa powder. Finish with a single whole coffee bean placed on top for presentation, if desired.
