Method

Pour & finish

1

Chill and prepare glassware

Confirm the sparkling wine is well chilled (recommended 40–45°F / 4–7°C). If desired, place the flute in the freezer for a few minutes or fill with ice and water for 1–2 minutes, then empty and dry before serving.

2

Open the bottle

Hold the bottle at a 45° angle, remove foil and loosen the wire cage while keeping your thumb over the cork. Twist the bottle (not the cork) slowly to ease the cork out with a quiet pop. Keep the neck pointed away from people and valuable items.

3

Pour

Tilt the glass at about 45°, then gently pour sparkling wine down the side of the glass until it reaches about two-thirds full (approximately 6 oz). Pour slowly to preserve bubbles and avoid excessive foaming.

4

Sweeten (optional)

If a slightly sweeter profile is desired, add 1/4 tsp simple syrup to the base of the glass before pouring, or stir gently with a bar spoon after pouring to incorporate without disturbing effervescence.

5

Garnish and serve

Express a citrus twist over the glass by holding the twist skin-side down and giving it a quick bend to release oils across the surface. Drop the twist into the glass or hang it on the rim. Optionally add an edible flower or a single berry (e.g., raspberry) for visual appeal. Serve immediately while sparkling.

Cleanup & notes

6

Store any unfinished bottle upright in the refrigerator and consume within 1–3 days for best quality. Use a sparkling wine stopper to help retain carbonation if available.
