Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Chill glass (optional)

If you prefer a colder drink, place a rocks glass or coupe in the freezer for 5–10 minutes before preparation.

  2. 2

Fill a cocktail shaker half-full with ice.

  3. 3

Pour in 3 oz Baileys Irish Cream, 1 oz chilled vodka, 1 oz cooled espresso (or strong coffee), 0.5 oz Kahlúa, and 0.25 oz simple syrup if using.

  4. 4

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds. Shaking chills and slightly aerates the cream for a silky texture and helps combine the coffee and spirits thoroughly.

  5. 5

Strain the mixed cocktail into the chilled glass over fresh ice (for a rocks presentation) or without ice into the chilled coupe for a smoother, more velvety sip.

Garnish & Finish

  1. 6

Lightly grate a small amount of nutmeg or dust with cocoa powder over the top of the cocktail to add aroma and visual contrast.

  2. 7

Optionally float three whole coffee beans on the surface as a classic coffee-cocktail garnish.

  3. 8

    Serve immediately and enjoy.
