Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; small lumps are okay.

  2. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions until hot and ready.

  3. 5

    Cook the Waffles

Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or a little oil. Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the center of the preheated waffle iron (usually about 1/2 to 3/4 cup, depending on the size of your iron). Close the lid and cook according to your waffle maker's instructions, usually about 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 6

    Serve

Carefully remove the waffle and serve hot. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve with your favorite toppings like syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
