Tuna Salad

Sandwich Assembly

Method

Tuna Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna Salad

In a mixing bowl, combine the canned albacore tuna, mayonnaise, finely chopped celery, finely chopped red onion, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper to taste.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 2

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread butter on one side of each slice of marble rye bread. Place two slices butter-side down on a skillet or griddle. Top each slice with a generous portion of the prepared tuna salad and a slice of Swiss cheese. Place the remaining slices of bread on top, butter-side up.

  2. 3

    Grill the Sandwich

Cook the sandwiches over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom side is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwiches and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  3. 4

    Serve

Once grilled to perfection, remove the sandwiches from the skillet. Cut in half and serve hot.
