Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ham

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Trim any excess fat from the country ham and score the surface in a diamond pattern for better flavor absorption.

  2. 2

    Make the Glaze

In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, ground cloves, and garlic powder. Mix well until you have a smooth glaze.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Apply the Glaze

Place the ham in a roasting pan, cut side down. Brush half of the glaze over the ham, ensuring that it gets into the scored areas.

  2. 4

    Roast the Ham

Cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Roast for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, basting with the remaining glaze every 30 minutes.

  3. 5

    Finish and Serve

Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of roasting to allow the ham to develop a nice caramelized crust. Once the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C), remove from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
