Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Rinse the Cranberries

Thoroughly rinse the fresh cranberries under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. Discard any damaged or overripe cranberries.

  2. 2

    Boil the Ingredients

In a large pot, combine the rinsed cranberries and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer.

  3. 3

    Cook the Cranberries

Allow the cranberries to simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until they burst and soften. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  4. 4

    Strain the Juice

Once the cranberries have burst, remove the pot from heat. Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the liquid into a large bowl or pitcher, pressing down on the cranberries to extract as much juice as possible.

  5. 5

    Sweeten the Juice (optional)

If desired, add sugar to the strained juice while it is still warm. Stir until sugar is fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.

  6. 6

    Add Lemon Juice

Stir in the lemon juice to enhance the flavor of the cranberry juice.

  7. 7

    Chill and Serve

Let the juice cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice or as desired.
