Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Gently mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium doneness. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or skillet if desired.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, a slice of tomato, and slices of onion. Add ketchup, mustard, and pickles as desired.

  3. 7

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun to complete the burger. Serve immediately.
