Making Sausage Gravy

Cook the Sausage
In a saucepan over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir well to combine. Cook for about 1-2 minutes to form a roux.

Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Baking the Biscuits

Prepare the Biscuit Dough
In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until just combined.

Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat it down to about 1 inch thick, and cut out biscuits. Place them on a baking sheet and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
