Method

Preparing the Salad

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Romaine Lettuce

Begin by rinsing the romaine lettuce under cold water to remove any dirt. Shake off excess water and then chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare Croutons

If using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup. If making homemade croutons, cut bread into cubes, toss with olive oil, garlic powder, and season with salt. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

  3. 3

    Grate Parmesan Cheese

Use a grater to shred the parmesan cheese. Set aside for garnish.

Making the Dressing

  1. 4

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl or jar, add the olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk or shake until well combined.

  2. 5

    Season the Dressing

Taste the dressing and add salt and black pepper to your preference.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 6

    Combine Salad Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce, croutons, and grated parmesan cheese.

  2. 7

    Dress the Salad

Pour the prepared dressing over the salad ingredients and toss gently to combine, ensuring the lettuce is well coated.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately as a fresh side dish or starter.
