Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 teaspoon of salt and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat. Form into two equal patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Toppings Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook 4 slices of bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add 8 ounces of sliced mushrooms and 2 minced garlic cloves. Sauté for about 5 minutes until mushrooms are browned.

  3. 5

    Add Bourbon Glaze

Pour 2 tablespoons of bourbon over the sautéed mushrooms and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the bourbon to reduce slightly.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place the cooked beef patty, followed by the sautéed bourbon mushrooms, 2 slices of crispy bacon, and 0.5 cup of crumbled blue cheese. Top with the other half of the bun.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the Bourbon Blue Burger immediately with your favorite sides.
