Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a round patty, about 1 inch thick.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Add the Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Bun

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or skillet, if desired.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of the bun. Top with a leaf of lettuce and slices of tomato. Cover with the top half of the bun.
