Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) to prepare for baking the ham.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Glaze

In a medium saucepan, combine the pineapple juice, brown sugar, honey, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, and ground ginger. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Ham

Place the fully cooked ham in a roasting pan. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, making shallow cuts about 1 inch apart. This will allow the glaze to penetrate the ham better.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Apply the Glaze

Brush about half of the prepared glaze over the scored surface of the ham, ensuring that it seeps into the cuts.

  2. 5

    Bake the Ham

Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for about 30 minutes, basting with the remaining glaze every 10 minutes.

  3. 6

    Add Pineapple and Cherries

After 30 minutes, remove the foil and arrange the fresh pineapple slices on top of the ham. Secure them with toothpicks if necessary. Place a maraschino cherry in the center of each pineapple slice.

  4. 7

    Final Bake

Return the ham to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, uncovered, until the ham is heated through and caramelized on the outside.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Once cooked, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Then slice the ham and serve it warm, garnished with the pineapple and cherries.
