For the Tiramisu
Method
Prepare the Coffee
- 1
Brew the Coffee
Brew a strong cup of coffee using your preferred method, ensuring it is concentrated.
- 2
Allow the coffee to cool to room temperature. If desired, stir in coffee liqueur for extra flavor.
Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture
- 3
Mix Mascarpone Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream.
- 4
Using an electric mixer, beat the mixture on medium speed until it becomes smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
Assemble the Tiramisu
- 5
Soak the Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the cooled coffee, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 6
Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a rectangular dish, forming an even layer.
- 7
Layer Mascarpone Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers, smoothing it out gently with a spatula.
- 8
Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture, finishing with the mascarpone on top.
- 9
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve the Tiramisu
- 10
Dust with Cocoa Powder
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
- 11
Cut into squares and serve chilled, optionally garnished with chocolate shavings or coffee beans.
