Teriyaki Chicken

Sushi Rolls

Method

Teriyaki Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved. Add the boneless chicken thighs and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Chicken

Preheat a grill or teppanyaki grill over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through and caramelized. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  3. 3

    Garnish and Serve

Slice the grilled chicken and arrange it on a serving plate. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Sushi Rolls Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Sushi Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions, usually in a rice cooker or on the stovetop. Once cooked, let it cool slightly before handling.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Sushi Rolls

Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat. Wet your hands to prevent sticking and spread about 50 grams of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border on the top edge. Lay cucumber, avocado, and crab sticks in the center of the rice. Roll the mat away from you, applying gentle pressure to form a tight roll.

  3. 6

    Cut and Serve

Using a sharp knife, slice the sushi roll into 6-8 pieces. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side.
