Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Crust Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine 1.5 cups of graham cracker crumbs, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of melted unsalted butter. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form the Crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to create an even crust.

  4. 4

    Bake the Crust

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Beat the Cream Cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat 4 cups of softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 6

    Add Sugar and Mix

Gradually add 1 cup of granulated sugar to the cream cheese, beating until well incorporated.

  3. 7

    Incorporate Sour Cream and Vanilla

Add 1 cup of sour cream and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract to the mixture. Beat until fully combined and smooth.

  4. 8

    Add Eggs and Flour

Add the 4 large eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition. Finally, add 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour and mix until just combined.

  5. 9

    Pour Filling into Crust

Pour the cream cheese filling into the cooled crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.

  6. 10

    Bake the Cheesecake

Bake the cheesecake in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 50-60 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.

  7. 11

    Cool and Chill

Turn off the oven and crack the door, allowing the cheesecake to cool in the oven for 1 hour. Then, refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving.
