Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Salami

Begin by slicing the Higueral salami into thin pieces, about 1/4 inch thick. This will help it cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the medium onion and bell pepper into small pieces. Set aside for later use.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are softened and the onion is translucent.

  3. 5

    Add the Salami

Once the vegetables are cooked, add the sliced Higueral salami to the skillet. Stir to combine with the vegetables.

  4. 6

    Season the Mixture

Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of paprika. Stir well to coat the salami and vegetables with the spices.

  5. 7

    Add Water

Pour in 1 cup of water to the skillet. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cover. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  6. 8

    Final Touch

After the cooking time, remove the lid and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes to thicken the juices slightly.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve the Dish

Once cooked, remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Serve the Higueral cooked salami hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
