Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Peel and Cut Yucca

Start by peeling the yucca using a sharp knife. Cut it into 1-inch thick pieces.

  2. 2

    Boil Yucca

Place the cut yucca pieces in a pot of boiling salted water. Boil for about 20-25 minutes or until the yucca is fork-tender. Drain and let cool.

Frying

  1. 3

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Fry Yucca

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the boiled yucca pieces in batches. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 5

    Drain and Season

Remove the fried yucca using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. While still hot, sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper to taste.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Serve the fried yucca hot as a side dish. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce or alone!
