Tortilla Chips
Cool Ranch Seasoning
Method
Prepare Tortilla Chips
- 1
Cut Corn Tortillas
Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into equal-sized triangles, about 6 pieces per tortilla.
- 2
Heat Oil
In a large, deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of tortilla; it should sizzle.
- 3
Fry Tortilla Triangles
Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
- 4
Drain Chips
Using a slotted spoon, remove the chips from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while they are still hot.
Make Cool Ranch Seasoning
- 5
Combine Seasoning Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine dried parsley, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, buttermilk powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Season Chips
- 6
Toss Chips with Seasoning
Once the tortilla chips are cool and drained, sprinkle the Cool Ranch seasoning over the chips. Toss gently to ensure all chips are coated evenly.
