Yogurt Base

Strawberry Mixture

Method

Prepare Yogurt Base

  1. 1

    Heat Milk

In a saucepan, heat 2 cups of low-fat milk over medium heat until it reaches about 180°F (82°C). Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.

  2. 2

    Cool Milk

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the milk cool down to about 110°F (43°C). You can use a thermometer to check the temperature.

  3. 3

    Add Yogurt Starter

Once the milk is cooled, stir in 2 tablespoons of non-fat yogurt starter culture and 1 tablespoon of sugar along with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.

  4. 4

    Incubate Yogurt

Transfer the mixture to a clean container, cover it with a lid or plastic wrap, and keep it in a warm place (like an oven with the light on) for 6-12 hours, or until it thickens.

Prepare Strawberry Mixture

  1. 5

    Prepare Strawberries

Wash and hull 1 cup of fresh strawberries. Cut them into small pieces.

  2. 6

    Mix Strawberries

In a bowl, combine the strawberry pieces with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Mix well and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the juices to release.

Combine and Serve

  1. 7

    Combine Yogurt and Strawberries

Once the yogurt base has thickened, gently fold in the strawberry mixture until evenly incorporated.

  2. 8

    Portion Yogurt

Scoop the yogurt into 4 small cups (4 oz each) and refrigerate until ready to serve.

  3. 9

    Serve

Enjoy your homemade Activia Lowfat Probiotic Strawberry Yogurt chilled. You can top it with additional strawberries if desired.
