Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well to ensure even distribution.

  2. 2

    Add Wet Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the warm water and olive oil. Mix with a wooden spoon until it forms a shaggy dough.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle a little more flour as needed.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape the Loaf

Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the loaf with a damp cloth and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until it has risen above the rim of the pan.

Garlic Topping Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 8

    Spread Garlic Butter

Once the loaf has finished its second rise, spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of the loaf.

Baking

  1. 9

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 10

    Bake the Loaf

Place the loaf in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the loaf is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

  3. 11

    Cool and Slice

Remove the loaf from the oven, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice into 16 pieces.
